Destino Final es el nombre de una película de terror rodada en el año 2000 sobre un grupo de estudiantes que consiguen engañar a la muerte en un accidente aéreo, saliendo ilesos. Sin embargo después de haberse salvado se dan cuenta de que la muerte volverá por ellos. El director y guionista James Wong escribió muchos capítulos de Los Expedientes Secretos X y el argumento está basado en un capítulo de esta serie. La película fue distribuida por New Line Cinema. El DVD fue lanzado el 26 de septiembre de 2000.
Esta película es la primera parte de la saga Destino final. Las siguientes son Destino final 2 (2003), Destino final 3 (2006) y Destino Final 4 (2009). Ésta última fue lanzada al cine en 3D. Han ganado varios premios internacionales entre ellos un Premios Saturn en el 2000 como mejor película de terror y Devon Sawa como mejor actor. También se han escrito una serie de libros relacionada con la saga. La película tiene lugar en el distrito neoyorquino de Long Island. Se muestran lugares como Jones Beach y el Aeropuerto Internacional John F. Kennedy.
